At last, after so many controversy of plagiarism and interested members of the jury panel, the candidature of Madrid for the Olimpic Games 2016 has a winner, which is only an anecdote because it’s well know that after London 2012 the IOC wont choose another european city… the politicians have to justify expenses.
In the front page of the Madrid city hall we can see the results, which are the following:
“Corle” leaded the preferences of the votes with 36.379 votes (32%). It’s author is Joaquín Mallo, an Argentinian nationalized Spanish 24 años ago, which wanted to represent the unity of the different cultures en Madrid through a hand, formed by a continuos line that changes it’s color and shows a M in it’s palm.
And the second place goes for Mirror for the World, with 17.645 votes (15,5%). Made by Rafael Palomares, he has 28 years and his proposal represents the metaphor of Madrid as a mirror for the world during the celebration of the Olimpic Games 2016. Only one line of curve outline, continuous, without any apparent meaning, it makes sense because of the effect of the red surface that converts a scrawl in a message.
And finally the third proposal chosen is Paint the Soul, with 16.298 votes (14,3%). His author, José Luis Aguilera, has also 28 years and wanted to reflect the soul of a city that is the center for tendencies, cultural and artistic movementses that configurates on of it’s main signs of identity: it’s open character and it’s hospitality.
Looks like my predictions weren’t that wrong. These were my favorites:
- Mirror for the World: It seems a good logo to me, but the concept it’s not transmited with the reliability that his authors proclaim. Aesthetically it’s my favorite and it has the conditions to be a good candidate. With some retouches I believe it should be the desserved winner.
- CORLE: Costly of printing; easy; nice, direct, human, legible. A valid option for the conservative judges.
- LIGHT: Costly of print, modern, aesthetically nice, not an original concept original, legible. A valid option for the modern judges. Out of the contest for not fulfilling the requisite of originality.

Me parece bien, pero es mucho mas significativo el segundo clasificado, espejo Madrid. Y de todos modos, ¿que clase de diseñador gráfico profesional ha ganado un concurso como este…¿cuando ni siquiera ha prestado atención a las bases del concurso?. Ahi queda eso.

es una ****, esto ni es diseño ni nada que se lo parezca. En cuanto a tecnica, el logo esta mal planteado , utiliza uniones redondeadas y esquinas puntiagudas, con lo cual, es un error tecnico y en cuanto a la tipografia no se puede utilizar dos tipos de letras una seria y otra manual es otro fallo tecnico.

Me parece una buena eleccion del logo, aunque despues de lo acontecido nos damos cuenta de como se hacen los concursos publicos del estado español….como para el himno sean igual…. parecen que abundan en ellos las casualidades siempre no? jeje
Estamos hablando de las olimpiadas y me sorprende que el unico logo que se ha clasificado y usa los colores del logo de las olimpiadas sea este.
Aparte de los significados distintos que puedan tener los demas logos hay uno que tratandose de las olimpiadas es innegable a este logo y facilmente identificable, sus colores.
Viendolo a simple vista es identificable facilmente con las olimpiadas por eso y ningun otro paradigma conceptual de los que se han inventado los autores creo que ha sido el ganador.
El del concepto espejo del 2 clasificado es bueno pero tiene una mala finalizacion y sigo pensando que usar un solo color para este concurso era demasiado arriesgado partiendo como base del logo olimpico claro.

Supongo que las montañitas rojas como las mascotas están basadas en los Alpes, es un referente geográfico compartido tanto por Austria como por Suiza.
