In this video we’ll learn how to make a digital drawing from a sketch made in pencil, as we do in SOSFactory. If you’re a novice in Photoshop i suggest you to practice first with the basic tutorial on Digital Drawing with Photoshop. In this new videotutorial the main news is that we’ll learn how to modulate the lines giving them different weights; with this we’ll get a much more shocking and dynamic result.

The key consists in using the different thicknesses of the lines in an appropiate way, the aren’t rules here, you need to let intuition be your guide. Let’s take a look to this two examples:
Example A: We have a thin line, without any weight differences. Also take a look at the colored line. the result is much more smooth, because it makes the color interior more important. I suggest doing this when you have to use the character at small scales. Here you can see the basic tutorial on Digital Drawing with Photoshop.
Example B: The line is thicker, there are weight differences and also the line remains black. The result is more impressive. The problem when using this style at small scales is that the line “drowns” the volume; at more line weight, less color interior, this way you will hardly obtain a good volume. There’s a third option which is drawing and inking it in the traditional way in paper, and after that take it to Photoshop to clean it and extract the lines. Here you can see the videotutorial on Digital Inking with Photoshop.
There’s also the last option which i don’t recommend unless you’re an advanced Photoshop user; it consists in drawing the lines directly with your digitalizer tablet.

muy buen videotutorial.. que curro te pegas!! yo tb lo hacia en PS, pero al final me pasé al FreeHand para vectorizar la linea y ahora siempre vectorizo el dibujo.. (un ejemplillo: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/60613308/ , aunque en este caso incluso el color es en FH)

Tengo 15 años, y quiero familiaizarme con esto. No consigo tener el photoshop en español y claro con el inglés me lío…Gracias por este tutorial. Muy bien explicado, pero ¿esto es solo y exclusivamente para adultos con experiencia?

Hola Erik, Photoshop es un poco complicado pero el idioma es lo de menos. Yo intentaría aprenderlo en inglés ya que hay más material del que aprender (libros, tutoriales…)
Sobre lo de la edad, pues los tutoriales son para principiantes independientemente de la edad.

Mi nombre es Diana y estudio Marketing, también soy diseñadora y me encantan las mascotas que sos factory crea, el color de verdad hace que las mascotas se vean hermosas, pero yo he avanzado mucho con los tutoriales y me gustaría saber si necesitas dibujantes, ya que el dibujo y el entintado es el trabajo que mejor puedo hacer, además de dibujar las mascotas de sosfactory aunque mi especialidad sea el anime, entonces ¿tú podrías darme tu correo para enviarte una muestra?

En principio lo que necesito es cartoon como lo que ves en SOSFactory. Si además puedes hacer otros estilos genial… pero ten en cuenta que el portafolio está muy muy orientado al estilo cartoon, es lo que pedirán los clientes.

Sergio i need one advice.
Im making one mascot for the new company of my work and i decided to design it and paint in photoshop.
So When i make the lineart i use “make selection” and fill it with a black color.
And in your tutorials you use the fill stroke with pencils.
What is the best choose? make selections or use pencils?

Se llama Camtasia: http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.asp y te exporta las películas directamente a Flash entre otros formatos.
Tiene algunos fallos pero en general va bien y es muy sencillo.

Descargué Camtasia hace unos días y no sé si alguna vez tuviste este problema: al iniciar en modo de grabación de la pantalla el cursor como q se ralentiza y no puedo trabajar, ¿será la memoria de la pc? leí la ayuda pero no me resuelve eso. cheers.

Necesitas bastante memoria RAM para que el cursor responda bien. Puedes mejorar el rendimiento deshabilitando una de las opciones (no recuerdo bien) pero el resultado es mucho peor, en el video no sale ninguna paleta del Photoshop.

Hola Sergio, me preguntaba si existe algo en el que yo dibuje en un papel algo, lo escanee y con algun programa le aplique una opcion como de comic o algo asi para que termine pareciendo un dibujo digital. Algo rapido y facil. sabes?
