Drawing with Photoshop

This tutorial is for beginners so we will explain all really detailed, its a basic tutorial to learn to use the stroke tool. We will use our mouse... no Wacom tablet is needed now.

This is the draw we want to digitalize. Would be good scan at real size (100%) with 150 dpi (dots per inches) so when we zoom the image the lines appear clean and when can work with precision.

We go to Photoshop and open a new document... the bigger the better. If we work at high resolution we always can resize it to smaller scale but not the opposite. Another good reason is we dont have to be too clean to get good results... with this resolution all will looks perfect and the smalls mistakes wont be seen.

We choice A3 and 150-300 ppp... I always work at 3000-5000 px.

So we should need 3 layers:

1 Digital Lineart.
2 Skecht.
3 Background

To add new layers simply click on the icon we marqued in red. I assume you know how to import the skecht into the canva (just cut, paste and resize if its needed).

We will use the PATH TOOL to retrace the lineart, is really important to configure the settings in mode STROKE like we see here (its on left-top corner):

Now we will work in the eyebrow. We click on the digital lineart layer to activate it and with the PATH TOOL we set three points at every vertex (you only have to click 1 times at every vertex).

Now we click again the PATH TOOL icon and keeping the button hold you will get this menu, we click the last icon CONVERT POINT TOOL :

We will convert this points to curves: click in one vertex and keeping the button of the mouse hold, drag it (there will appear a couple of handles you can use to make the curve). We always can use ADD ANCHOR POINT TOOL to add more vertex if you need more complex shapes... in this case we add another one.
