Drawing with Photoshop (Page 2)

Ok, now we have the path, so we need the settings of the brush we will use to do the line, click on and we pick a hard brush of around 5pixel or whatever you want and red color (it will helps to stand out from the skecht)

Now lets go back to the PATH TOOL  (or any of the tools in the Path tool menu), keeping the mouse into the canvas we click on the right button of the mouse and we choice STROKE PATH and a pop up like this will appear:

We choice airbrush (or any other tool you want to use, but remember to choice the settings you want like we did with the airbrush).

Now be sure you are in the lineart layer and just click OK and our stroke will appear in red and 5 px.

If we activate SIMULATE PRESSURE in the previous menu we will get a path with his extremes very sharp, just another effect if we need it... we always can use a standard path and use to sharp the lines or you simply do a path simulating pressure and delete one half... there is infinite combinations to get differents weight values on your lineart if you want.

(We plain to do another deeper tutorial regarding weight values)

The key to do good lineart is to use small paths for every part... we can get the whole picture inked with just one path.

So we do 1 path in the lineart layer, we add another layer and do the 2nd path, so if its not too accurate we can delete the areas shouldnt be there... when we are ok with the line we MERGE DOWN the layer with the lineart layer.

CTRL+E=MERGE DOWN . It will merge the layer with the one just below.

(If you are more experienced with Photoshop Im sure you could do all the lineart in one layer with the rubber or history brush).

Ok guys, now is time to work, when you are finish it should looks like this. When you are finish you could delete the skecht layer and we are ready to start the color process (coming soon)

Its a basic inking, if you want more complex lineart you could use different brushes to get different weight values or textures... it could be another tutorial more advanced.

I hope it helps ; )
